Hunger and poverty in America

Hunger and poverty
The article mention that hunger is a cause of poverty, which I think is not correct. At least in America. It has been in that way for a long time. But what about the world? If we are to take all nations as one; then why doesn’t the same logic hold? That if you eat less than a billion dollars a year you would become impoverished? This just does not work. Of course, we will not be able to reach this point. All nations need poverty level of around 3,500 annually. But, I do believe that it should not exist at all for everyone. You can’t assume everything of life on earth is the same everywhere. Because if anything there are differences in our culture, food, ways, etc, for example. We have different notions about love, relationships, and many other things. There are many reasons why it is so difficult to make this assumption. First, let’s look at the whole globe, where there are other cultures. Let’s look at some of them. In Africa there is tribalism, war, slavery, tribal chiefships, tribes of hunters and gatherers, tribes, villages such as the Hmong peoples and the Akan people, small towns like those of central Africa, more populous like China, India, Indonesia and Mexico, and even smaller countries like Brazil, Chile and Argentina. There is also such a wide range of languages (Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese). Even in Europe (which of course you must know) you still find communities with various languages and their own way of living. Then, we also have nationalities everywhere in the world. For example, in Sweden there are Swedes, Americans, Russians, Dutch, Spaniards, Japanese, Spanish Canadians, Portuguese, and Spaniard Canadians. So, we see such diversity of cultures and languages all around the world. As you can see, there is certainly no global “communism†like we call it in the United States or any other country. Not to mention that each nation speaks its own language. I will leave people talking about socialism because that is just not true of our world today. What is true today is liberal democracy. Our world today has nothing in common with Marxist societies. Why don’t we talk more about it? Well, because it simply won’t happen. Socialism has never existed before, so who cares now? On top of this, to start with, all human beings are different. People with different cultural backgrounds, social classes, political views and religions have various ways of living life. Such people live in a society that looks very different from the society they previously lived in. These differences can be seen in art, literature, politics, economics, law, religion, geography, etc., which is not the case everywhere. A similar thing can be said about societies and economies around the world as well. Every single region has unique characteristics. Some areas have high fertility rates, others low ones, some have lots of trade and commerce and others are mainly agricultural. Let us only speak about the first group because we are sure that their lifestyles are not exactly the same. They still have different conceptions of love, peace, hope, etc. Then, the second group have unique lifestyles. It’s possible nowadays that the majority of the world stays in the third category. Yet it never stops them living as a minority in another community somewhere in the world. Although, I do agree that we are not an island and our individual lives depend on many different factors. Finally, I do agree that even every community differs in their lifestyles too. In conclusion, I would like to say that the idea that “each person†is “equal and independent†is extremely inaccurate and not supported by reality as much as the idea that all people are equal and dependent.
